Getting the proper approval to build a boat dock on
public land.
Before you
start any dock project you should review the policies
governing access to and construction on the body of
water in question. This will save you a lot of
trouble and help insure that you build an appropriate
dock for your site. If your body of water falls
under TVA or Corps of Engineers jurisdiction the
following link provides the information necessary to
apply for approval and the guidelines to build by.
TVA
sections 26F requirements and application.
Please note all the products available on this site and
the suggestions in the articles meet or exceed the
requirements of TVA and the Corp of
Engineers. The application process is well defined
and easy to follow. Approval can take from two to
four months depending upon the seasonal work load.
If your
body of water is under state or local jurisdiction
please be sure to check their requirements.
